Message 1:

Dear students,

This group is for male students of O Level and IGCSE Mathematics. If you have been added in the wrong group, you can leave this group and text me regarding the group you needed.

To confirm an issue here:

The math for o level and igcse has much the same course material. The syllabus division is different and names of papers as well. However, we will cover most stuff here for both.

If something is not included in both, and in only one of these, I will mention separately

A FEW CHAPTERS ARE DIFFERENT IN BOTH AS WELL. Will mention them separately too

Students must ask their queries in personal chat to avoid the group being clogged. Here, only the material or material links will be provided. Otherwise, it could be hard to find material later.

I will try to provide as much of the material as possible moving forward. Do refer your other friends for the subjects here as well. Just let them know to leave a message at the same Whats App number.

New Members after this point may not see the material before they joined. The best way to find previous material is to use a combine material link. The link will be provided every time a new member joins so they can find the previous material.

Each time a new member joins, they will be provided with the link to the previous / missing material.

Regards.

First

I am sharing some common knowledge about both the papers that must be kept in mind when you are preparing for each of the papers.

Remember, you may know some of things already. However, repeating them is worth it for students who are knew here or may not know them directly

Message 3:

For paper 1 of mathematics

The examiner is testing your CONCEPTS. They do not allow you to use a calculator for the sole reason that you must be good at the concepts he is trying to test.

Let me give you some of the examples of concepts where student MIGHT feel they need a calculator but instead they are just simple tricks that you need to know for paper 1 solutions

For example

  1. It may ask you to identify whether a triangle. is obtuse angled or acute angled based solely on the cosine rule. Now in first glance, it seems that you need a calculator for it. But basically, a simple concept applies here of what an angle is based on the value of cos (angle)’s value. Just remember that COS -1 or cos inverse of a NEGATIVE value is always obtuse angles. So you do not need to calculate the angle itself. Also, in any triangle there can be JUST ONE OBTUSE angle. 2 possible hi nahi because the total sum will exceed 180 which is impossible.
  2. Similarly, it may ask you to tell the transformation matrix that will plot an image on the actual object. You will think I need a graph paper to make and then decide, jabke the concept here is you need to know the fact that the inverse of the original matrix does that for you naturally.
  3. Similarly, apko wo bolde there are the points (1,2)
What will happen if you reflect it in y=-x line
App sochain gi k you need a graph, haalnke the concept here is whenever you translate in y=-x as a reflection, the coordinates of y and x change value and sign. So (1,2), become (-2,-1) Without even plotting.
For paper 1, you A star is dependent on concepts. Concepts bantay kaisay hain? Do past paper from 2005 onward both variants both series and do then with proper understanding k koi formule kion apply hora.
  4. Working has marks, and it provides carry forward marks as well. SO do show your working. It takes so less time to show it, but protects marks.
Here are just a few examples above of how paper 1 is the real killer when it comes to grade and how to handle it.

Here are a few more guides as well for the same paper 1 tactics:

Transformation k liye hi

  1. When you reflect in x axis, the y coordinate change sign
  2. When you reflect in y axis, x coordinate change sign.
  3. When you reflect in y=x, the x and y coordinate swap places.

For chapter of measurements, aik common issue ata on deciding prisms surface area formula. dekho koi bhi shape prism ho sakti. prism ka concept ye hota that when you take a cross section of the shape, to wo same ho. Jaisay, agar aik bread loaf hai app usko beech se kato same shape rahti. To consider each side’s area and add it to make the surface area for prism.

So the basic idea is ANY SHAPE CAN BE A PRISM as long as it has a similar cross section. Prism kisi bhi shape ka ho sakta hai.

Acha also

Students find a difficult in determining formula. Like open cylinder ka surface area kia hoga, close cylinder ka kia hoga etc.

Remember, surface area main just make sure you count the surfaces right and use them properly.

Iskay related I will upload detailed notes today and share here as well

For paper 2,
You need to know the application techniques.

  1. Jaisay, one question that always causes issues for students in where you are forming series or trends like n= N5-n1 etc.Ismain trick ye hoti k WO AIK PATTERN APKO PART a main dega. Jo dosra pattern apnay banana that would be relate to the original one. Just check k original walay main kia multiple, divide, add, subtract krke naya pattern ban ra. bajaye k app direct bananay baith jayein.

  2. Similarly, trigonometry main try to decide the formula if you cant do directly by looking at the marks. Most of the times, a 4 marks question will be from cosine rule.Aik aur common mistake zehan main ayi,

  3. The INNER angle of elevation, and the OUT angle of depression are exactly the same. Common mistake hoti bacha sochta rahta konsa konsa hai.

  4. Acha also

  5. Basic bat ye hai k paper 2 main pichlay part k answer ko aglay part se connect karnay ki adat dalain jab tak connect hora.

  6. Working is must. Kayi bar working and steps k marks hotay

  7. Take the rigth amount of decimal places and significant figures.

  8. Both papers k liye

  9. Past papers are the key and TOPICAL past papers takay har topic pe hath pakka ho pahlay. Phir yearly karnay chahiye

NOW

I am sharing a few guides that can help you.

Preparation Video

Details about how to prepare (Click Here)

Schedule (Click Here)

You probably know this already, but

Remember

The preparation method and schedule is tentative, you do not need to do the same way. Agar apkay liye koi aur tareeqa better work out karta, then just use the other method.

As long as the method makes sense for you, follow it.

Schedule was made for 3 months. Is time hamaray pass 2 months hain

What you have to do is:

1. Do not take the 12 break days or free days I inserted

2. END SE 15 din chor dein schedule k. START WALAY nahi chornay.

Like say you have 20 days less than the schudule, then leave the last 20 days. Start walay 20 ni chornay.

Now

I am sharing notes of multiple chapters

The ones that are missing I will complete today for mathematics and share as well.

Message 7:

IGCSE ONLY ALERT (THIS ALERT IS NOT FOR O LEVEL STUDENTS IN THE GROUP_

A key note here

CALCULATORS ARE ALLOWED THROUGHOUT THE ASSESSMENT OF IGCSE MATHEMATICS

BUT

REMEMBER, CONCEPTS WILL MATTER. You can not base your entire work on calculator. Because if you do not know the tricks, sometimes a simple question of 1 mark will take you 10-15 mins on the calculator, so do prepare the concepts alongside.

Calculator Konsa use karoon

I PREFER CASIO FX 991 ES Plus

Aik to use karna asan hai, easy hai simple hai. Dosra, it is really good at getting on your hand. Aik dafa hath pakka ho jaye, speed bohat hoti.

Remember, programmable calculators are NOT ALLOWED never take them with you. Ye hotay jinmain computer system hota to sttore formula and stuff.

Message 9:

Book issue

Calculator Issue Further

Any one having Casio fx 991 series calcualtor can use them. They are non-programmable.

Programmable calculators main GRAPHICAL calculators hotay hain wo A level further math main use karna allowed hota but u cant use in igcse or o level math. Remember that.

Notes

Disclaimer: I am not perfect and I do not follow other people when making material. So

If you spot an issue, just let me know in personal chat and surely it will be corrected. To err is human, perfection means death. What I can guarantee is that I have tried my best to ensure that everything is as correct as possible. But only human ok.

Your teachers may tell you different methods or ways, and that is COMPLETELY fine – there are multiple ways to do stuff. If you have query regarding “sir falaan sir ye kah rahay hai”, don’t ask it. We are here neither to negate or accept others. My job is to clarify any issues you are facing in your exams. Usse related koi sawal hai bila jhijhak poochain I will answer. But, ratification of other teachers is both disrespectful to the other teacher and their knowledge. I respect all your teachers, and that is what matters. So, I won’t be passing a judgement on what others tell you. Please avoid such stuff.

Also, if any of the links DO NOT SHOW THE IMAGES do let me know as soon as possible. Because the images are crucial for math.

Also, make sure you copy the complete link to the web browser. Sometimes, Whats App does not show the complete link. Copy the complete link. I will add short links later as well to make sure they open easily.

Still if anyone faces any issue do let me know in personal texts.

I have simplified it to keep it a O level / IGCSE thing only. Otherwise, there are deeper meanings to each of these notations.

Here is part of of Venn Diagram shading. Sincere request DONT CRAM THEM. Instead, try to focus on the thought process explained to make a diagram. Cuz cram karnay ka faida ni, there are unlimited variations of Venns and you can not cram them all.

Message 11:

One thing for mathematics in general and measurement in particular

Try not to cram the formula. Instead, try to understand what is happening when a formula is built. That way, no matter what ever the shape he gives you in exam, you will be able to find the formula for it

A small example.

In surface area of cuboid, we are just taking the AREAS of the 6 OUTSIDE RECTANGLE SURFACES and adding them together in the main formula for surface area of cuboid.

Think of it this way.

Ab agar wo apko one side se open, ye 2 side se open cuboid de deta hai to all you have to do is to take out those 2 surfaces from your final calculation of the surface area.

Like formula built on SPOT.

I am compiling all these abhi, just gave an example here. Also, wll upload a video if my tablet arrives tomorrow, or whenever, about the same IA

Uploaded the first part. kept it short as a test video. Will upload part 2 for the same chapter after it taking in the comments, suggestions and ways to improve from the students in consideration. Do let me know what you think if this will work well for the entire past paper series.

Your suggestions are appreciated

This is the second part of topical indices and standard form + algebra. A few important common techniques covered here. There will be probably 2 other videos for this chapter, and then I will upload the solution file as well
